ICBA Commentary: Provincial Throne Speech

(February 16, 2009 - VANCOUVER) The Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (ICBA) offered the following commentary on today's speech from the throne by the BC Government.

"The government has identified infrastructure and capital projects
that can be accelerated, which will be good value for British Columbians," said Philip Hochstein, President of the ICBA. "However, these projects are slated to run over the next three years. We hope the bulk of the jobs being created are in the first two of the three year program, as we hope to be in a healthier economy by the third year.”

Hochstein added that he is looking forward to tomorrow’s provincial budget for more details on spending for these building and renovation projects.
