Vote Smart BC Election Ad Campaign Takes Lighthearted Approach to Serious Issues
Economic management is a key issue on May 12
VANCOUVER, BC – A new TV ad campaign and website are urging British Columbians to “Vote Smart” in the May 12th provincial election. The campaign is being sponsored by the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (ICBA) of BC.
“Our members are family-owned construction businesses and with the current global economic downturn, we want to remind people that our province can’t afford a return to the disastrous policies of the NDP,” said Philip Hochstein, President of the ICBA.
“What’s different about these ads is that we’re taking a lighthearted approach to the NDP record,” Hochstein said. “The underlying message about the economy is serious, but these times call for a little bit of humour to remind people that continued strong economic management is essential for our province to weather the storm.”
The TV ads, which can be viewed at the Vote Smart BC website – www.votesmartbc.com – feature a conversation between two talking election signs. An NDP election sign commiserates with a Vote Smart BC sign about the NDP’s record of poor economic management.
The website also features an interactive game where you can test your skills against the NDP’s Fast Ferry.
ICBA (www.icba.ca) represents family owned construction businesses across British Columbia.
